United in Harmony’s Camp Harmony offers two overnight sleepaway camps, as well as other in-person programming throughout the year, for children experiencing poverty. All of our counselors are high school volunteers who serve as positive role models.
United in Harmony serves children ages 7 to 12 experiencing poverty in Los Angeles and the surrounding counties. We partner with Title I schools, transitional housing shelters, and other community-based organizations to directly bring in campers from diverse areas of need.
Our volunteer counselors come from more than 35 surrounding high schools. Students in grades 10–12 serve as leaders and inspirational role models for the campers.
Our overnight camp program is designed to help children build positive self-esteem, inspiring and empowering them in their future endeavors.
At Camp Harmony, children grow through interactions with teenage and adult role models while experiencing nature, exploring arts, sports, and an array of other enriching activities.
“I have returned back to the place that taught me that there are people out there in the world rooting for me.This summer Camp Harmony gave me the best gift and allowed met to return back as a counselor to young girls in the same position I once was.”
